RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES

The youth in our community expressed the need to focus on promoting the revitalization of the culture, language and history of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians (TMBCI).  At the 2017 Tribal Youth Summit there was a long conversation about the role the youth can take in revitalizing the culture and language of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Nation. The outcome of the discussion expressed a need to integrate the culture and language in all aspects of the youth activities within the TMBCI.  This discussion is further validated by the small but growing body of research that supports the importance of integrating the cultural values and customs in health and wellbeing promotional activities for youth.  As a result, the Youth Council established the following goals, and objectives that will help in growing the culture, language, and history resources within the TMBCI community.
